NEW DELHI: Acme Solar Holdings Ltd has signed deal with Brookfield Renewable for jointly putting a 450 megawatt (MW) solar project in Rajasthan, as a part of its playbook to sell equity stake in its projects.

In a statement on Tuesday, India’s largest pure-play solar platform Acme announced the closure of a affect Brookfield Renewable which is one among the worldwide owner and operators of renewable power assets, to create a 450-megawatt solar project in Rajasthan.

Acme Solar earlier sold 2 solar projects totalling 400 MW to Actis Long Life Infrastructure Fund and 100 MW to Petroliam Nasional Bhd owned Amplus.

The statement added that a 25-year power purchase agreement with Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) is included in the solar project.

By 2022, India will have installed 175 GW of renewable energy, including 100 GW of solar power. According to the Central Electricity Authority, India’s power demand by 2030 will be 817 GW, more than half of which will come from renewable energy.
