Amp Energy India Commissions 13.5 MW open-access solar project in Maharashtra

(EPT): Amp Energy has announced the commissioning of its second open-access solar power project in Maharashtra.

The 13.5 MW project, located in the Osmanabad district, will supply solar power to Orient Cement for its manufacturing plant in Maharashtra under a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA).

The Cement manufacturer has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Amp Energy India for the procurement of solar power for 25 years.

Through this partnership, Orient Cement will meet approximate 50% of its annual energy requirements and significantly reduce its energy cost. The project will also help Orient Cement reduce about 15,595 Metric tons of CO2 per annum.

This partnership will provide the right impetus for other cement companies to transition towards 100% renewable energy for reducing their energy costs and meeting their sustainability targets Mr. Pinaki Bhattacharya ,Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, Amp Energy India said.

Amp Energy India with its diversified portfolio of projects has already developed large open access projects including some landmark projects such as the Largest Solar Open Access Project in Maharashtra 30 MW, the First captive solar open access project in Uttar Pradesh of 42 MW capacity.

Amp Energy India was Founded in 2016 & developed a portfolio of 1.5 GW+ spread across 15 states in India. It is a triple-play renewable developer (utility, distributed generation and open access) with a focus on commercial and industrial (C&I) customers. Amp Energy also receives some orders for hybrid Renewable Power Projects with battery storage system.

Amp Energy India some projects are under commissioning like 30 MW Karnataka , 20 MW Uttar Pradesh and generation shall be start by 2nd Quarter of 2022.
