Indian Railways Plans Four New Bullet Train Corridors Linking 9 Cities
(EPT): Under the National Rail Plan, Indian Railways (IR) is planning to add four new Bullet Train corridors that will link nine extra cities to the high-speed rail community, The corridors to be proposed include a 618 km-long corridor between Hyderabad & Bangalore, 855 km-long route between Nagpur & Varanasi, 850 km-long way between Patna & Guwahati and 190 km-long corridor linking Amritsar, Pathankot & Jammu.
A railway supply instructed the newspaper that the brand new hall could be proposed along with the eight on which the railway ministry is already working underneath the NRP. As well as, the Ministry of Railways is taking a look at linking all main Indian cities with a high-speed rail network. As per the TNIE report, the permitted and proposed bullet practice corridors will run alongside nationwide highways and expressways with lovely greenery enriching the view of the commuters.
Presently, the 1st high-speed rail corridor in India, which will run between Mumbai to Ahmedabad and cover a distance of 508 km, is under construction and may take up to 2026-27, the Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said the Financial Express in an interview.
The approximate cost of the mission is Rs1.1 lakh crore.
