SJVN Receives LoI From BREDA To Supply 200MW Solar Power

(EPT) : Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam, better known as SJVN,on Friday announced it has got a letter of intent (LoI) for supply of 200 MW solar power to Bihar.

“Bihar Renewable Energy Development Agency (BREDA) has issued LoI for procurement of 200 MW of power at a discovered tariff of Rs 3.11 per kWh from SJVN from the company’s grid connected solar power project.

SJVN had bagged a grid connect solar power Project in Bihar through Open Competitive Tariff Bidding Process for quoted capacity of 200 MW @ INR 3.11 /Unit on Build Own and Operate (BOO) basis during e-Reverse Auction held in August 2021. Sh. Nand Lal Sharma CMD, SJVN

The LoI has been issued after approval of tariff by Bihar Electricity Regulatory Commission (BERC). SJVN will soon sign a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Bihar State Power Holding Company (BSPHC) for a period of 25 years.

Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director of SJVN said the company had bagged a grid connect solar power project in Bihar through an open competitive tariff bidding process for capacity of 200 MW during an e-reverse auction held in August 2021.

Sharma further said the tentative cost of construction and development of this project will be Rs 1,000 crore. The mission is predicted to generate 420.48 MU (million items) within the first 12 months and its cumulative vitality technology over a interval of 25 years could be about 10512 MU.

The company has a portfolio of more than 16,000 MW, out of which 2016.5 MW is under operation and many projects are under execution.

Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam, better known as SJVN, is an Indian public sector undertaking involved in hydroelectric power generation and transmission. It was incorporated in 1988 as Nathpa Jhakri Power Corporation, a joint venture between Government of India and Government of Himachal Pradesh.

Earlier in this month SJVN received LOI from Uttar Pradesh New and Renewal Development Agency (UPNEDA) for 75 MW and 50 MW grid connected Solar Power Project at Gurhah, in Jalaun District and at Jrai, in Kanpur Dehat District respectively in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
